Rick shrugged, and then took out his book of hentai spells. "Maybe... let me look... let's see here... The crystal is a semi-intelligent artifact... It'd be under Magical Alterations (Mental)... hmmm..."
Rick scratched his head, then sighed. "I give up... book?"
Rick's Book of Hentai Magic flipped open to a blank page. Ernie and Jim gaped - it was alive?
"I need a spell that would alter a magical artifact's personality and goals."
Words scrolled across the empty page. [Power of target artifact?]
"The Ginzoushou."
[!?!?!?!?!]
[Not currently possible.]
Rick scowled. "Then what do you suggest?"
[Perhaps a Binding. The Ginzoushou has certain strictures and magical pathways to channel it's power - there's nothing to change. You'd need another artifact of the proper intent, and the spell on pages 6969 through 6984.]
Rick's expression lightened somewhat, then he thought for a couple moments, while Jim and Ernie looked impatient. "Book, list suitable artifacts." [Listing... listing...] flashed for perhaps five seconds, then: [None within radius, excepting this volume]With that, the book flipped to page 6969:

Rick looked at the ingredients, and then wrote them down on a piece of paper and gave it to Jim and Ernie.
"Here you go - get these and we'll be able to pervert the crystal."
Rick smirked. "You won't even have to steal the Ginzoushou - we can do it from here. I'll stay here and set things up while you guys fetch the following:"
Full length silver mirror
A cup of blood from a living virgin
Three drops of belladonna extract
A handful of golden dust
Jim and Ernie looked at each other and shrugged, before getting to work.
Meanwhile, Rick waited until they had left, then chuckled. There was only one catch to the spell - it could only work once, and the caster of the spell was melded into the mix - and thus had complete control over the result. He'd have total dominance - Jim and Ernie would be helpless... he alone would triumph!
Rick let loose with a maniacal cackle as he prepared.
