It had been a few months since Yugi had defeated Atem and freed him back to the afterlife. unfortunately, while Joey, Tristain, and even Kikaba had stood by him Tea had grown distant as if she was blaming him for Atem leaving.
While Joey noted that she couldn't be upset with him forever he was beginning to think she just had to wait out a clock until graduation. Yugi had hoped that after the separation it would bring the two friends closer and she would see him for all he's worth and not just some vassal for Atem but she blocked him out every time he attempted to talk to her.
As Yugi got home to the game shop after school he entered to see his grandpa scanning rocks that a colleague had given him along with a Visual RF Scanner to see what he thought of his latest archaeological dig.
