Yukiyo Taku was a beautiful young girl. Light brown hair cascaded down her back. She walked with an air of grace and strength that captured the attention and the imagination of everybody she walked past in the corridor. For now, Yukiyo was heading outside for her lunch. She liked to sit in the sun as she ate, and it was certainly a nice enough day.
Except... what were those two boys doing skulking around the stairs like that? Oh. Of course. Yukiyo marched over and rapped them both on the head.
"Hey, what's the big - Yu-Yukiyo!"
"That's right!" she smiled down at the pair. "Whatcha doin'?"
"N-Nothing!"
"That's good. Because if you were planning on taking upskirt shots with those cameras, I might have to do something about it." She stopped smiling, and the two let out an impressive whimper. "Got it?"
Off they scurry, no doubt already planning their next perverted plan. Honestly, she couldn't let her guard down even for a moment. Speaking of which, there were three boys over there acting suspiciously too... Maybe Yukiyo ought to have a chat with them as well! She crept over, inch by inch, stalking silently closer-
"Did you guys hear that the new Heaven Maid has been announced?"
Yukiyo stopped in her tracks. What had he just said? Heaven Maid?! Her favourite ero series? The three currently released each occupying slots within her top ten of all time? There's a fourth coming out?! What features did they advertise? What characters were returning if any? Why hadn't she heard about this?!
No, no, don't get distracted. It looks like these boys were only talking about things they would rather not discuss while a girl was present. Though she ached to join them, this was not her conversation. Just walk away, and -
"They've already announced a crossover with Super Mega Battle Girl! They've released shots of human form Ryko in the game!"
Yukiyo froze once again. Super Mega Battle Girl? That rising star of the manga world? The main character of that was in this game?! This news was world breaking! How could this possibly have a grain of truth in it?! No way would they tarnish the image of this series with an ero-game! On the other hand, Ryko in a maid outfit... merely imagining it caused blood to dribble from Yukiyo's nose. So moe! So very moe!
Snap out of it! You're at school! Be the otaku later! For now, you're the girl everybody looks up to. For now, you're the cute and smart and tough and popular girl that is admired or feared by everybody. The otaku is left at home. They are to all intents and purposes completely different people.
Or at least that's what she wanted to believe at the time. If only it was that easy, right? Of course something was going to change all of that. Of course it would. Because by the end of the day, whether she liked it or not, Yukiyo was about to find herself experiencing the harem manga type of story from the opposite point of view. Whether she liked it or not.
