Duelling Rocks GX: Forced Wish

She was about to make another remark about Alexis crushing so damn hard on that Jaden guy, but had to bite back a moan as she caught sight of just who he was sitting with. Syrus Truesdale. There was something about him, something just so cute and hawt that it made her have to grip the desk in front of her to stop from just jumping him where he sat. Down girl, she admonished herself. She was getting as bad as Alexis! Self control, have to maintain just a little self control...

And then with a sigh, she got back to staring at him. It was little more than a token effort to look away, really. In one way, Mindy was definitely ahead of Alexis, just one way. She had a plan to nail her man. The costume was almost ready. Almost finished. He wouldn't be able to resist her, any more than she could resist him.

Jasmine looked over at her two friends, and sighed wearily. Mindy had spent weeks putting together a Dark Magician Girl outfit, modelling it, tweaking it, and like a good friend she had stayed there to help her out. Attempts to talk her out of this insane plan were futile, as her head simply wandered off into the clouds, and there it was going to stay so long as she thought about Syrus. It was a good thing she lived in the Obelisk Girls Dorm rather than the Slifer Red. Spending that much time around the boy - and really, what did she see in him? - would likely result in her being reduced to the same helpless puppy love as Alexis. Look at them. It was like they were mirror images of each other, staring at their loves. If they were any more pathetic, they'd have hearts shaped pupils.

Not that Jasmine had any problems with love, of course. In fact, she was pretty sure she qualified as boy crazy with the best of them. But this... this went too far! She'd opened up the wrong drawer the other day, and found pictures that she was even now trying to repress from her memory. Mindy was getting very swiftly into some very creepy territory here. It sucked being the level headed one of the group. She almost wished that this wasn't the case, but just barely stopped herself from saying it out loud. Funny. It was as though something was trying to make her say it. In fact, now that she was paying attention to it...

"I... I wi- I wishhhhh!" she hissed, and clamped a hand over her mouth. What was that? She took a few deep breaths, thankful that the teacher was ignoring her section of the room, and calmed down. It was just her imagination, right? But the urge was still there, like an itch she couldn't scratch. She wanted to say it so desperately, just a whisper, that would do, and it would go away. The itch would be scratched. She could be sane again.

No! No! No! She wouldn't be forced to say it. She held this terrible fear of what might happen if she did. Was something malevolant playing games with her? Was she under some spell or other? Trying to make her say something she didn't really feel? Maybe if she said something else, the spell would break and she would be free? Alright! That's worth a try!

Just say your name, she thought. Your name. Just say it. It was worth a try, right? Her hands fell away from her mouth, ready to slap over it again at a moment's notice. "Jasmine," she breathed. It wasn't even a whisper, it was too quiet for that. But contained within was all the stress, all the fear she'd been carrying and she felt as though it was all just her imagination after all. There was no spell, no compulsion to speak... "Wishes she wasn't the sensible one of the three of us."

Her hand slapped over her mouth, perhaps a little louder than she'd intended, but it was too late now. She'd said it. Something had snuck inside her mind and made her say something she'd meant as a joke .But that wasn't all it had done. Jasmine could feel something... different about herself. She could feel something... Something changing. She couldn't fight it. Didn't even know how to try. And so, she sat there in class and let it wash over her...
