Anyway the rant in the episode was too long. It should have been shorter, or not there at all.
I got the feeling you haven't read the Saffron arc as Akane wasn't any help, and as she is apt to do made things worse because she tried to help in spite of not being able to.

First, I'm going to say that I feel you're just factually off base. But no way in hell am I debating this topic for the billionth time. So please don't try to engage me in any kind of back and forth on this point, because I'm thoroughly burned out on arguing these points with people.
Second, that hardly qualified as a *rant*. It was a simple bit of rumination on facts and perceptions. It was focused, it was perfectly coherent, it served a purpose in the context of the episode, it wasn't a list of grievances and it was not attacking anyone. That's not a rant. Come on now.
