A virus is not technically alive, according to some definitions of life. In others? It is. It reproduces in a manner quite horrible. It attaches to a cell. Injects a complicated chemical into the cell. This chemical then hijacks the cell, forcing it to devote all of its resources to manufacturing more of the viruses until eventually the cell simply bursts and the new viruses are flung out to attach themselves to more and more cells.
To anyone with the capacity to view the multiverse, this may have seemed like a similar life cycle save the part where the infected cell explodes and dies. It had all started from a single world where the God of all Perverts had in his wisdom used his power to make the world a Better Place. Perverts became empowered. A paradise. A utopia.
And then a select few of them figured out how to step over into other worlds. The invasions were inevitable after that. Many of the perverts greatly enjoyed the act of seducing the unwary, and in their own world it was simply too easy for them. No more weeping over no new worlds to conquer. A new one was being born every nanosecond.
The stories of these other worlds, how they fell, how they fought back, how some even managed to hold their own against this encroaching perverted invasion. Such stories are worth telling. Such stories are worth knowing. For one instance upon thousands, this is the tale of the time a young man named Rick arrived in a world startlingly similar to a particular fictional series.
