Ataru's Kingdom

Unending BE - episode 987277

Really early in the Manga there was a story where Ataru found an egg sought by two pixy sized girls, but instead of containing Mothra, it contained a pocket reality. The egg grew, absorbing power from Ataru until it hatched open when it was the size of the school turning the school grounds into a strange land, with cliffs shaped like naked women, grass that liked to flip girls skirts, bushes that grew Cup Ramen, and other strange things.

When the initial effects faded everyone assumed that everything had been nullified and cleaned up like all the other weird things that appeared and caused chaos before going away within a week. In point of fact while the initial physical effects faded and were smoothed over, the pocket reality in the egg persisted, becoming acclimated to the existing reality of Tomobiki as it grew and matured and eventually developed a mind of it's own.

A mind that retained it's link to Ataru Moroboshi. A mind that essentially slept as it matured, but now was ready to wake and begin to act in support of the one it was bound to. A mind that now encompassed all of Tomobiki.

1. *The awakening is big and dramatic - skirt flipping grass sprouting everywhere.
2. The awakening is much more subtle – the weather starts shifting to match Ataru's moods, everyone trying to hinder him keeps getting lost in the streets, etc.
3. The awakening's first sign is that Ataru finds that he just sort of knows everything he wants to know about Tomobiki.
4. The awakening is truly over the top – Tomobiki separates from reality and forms it's own pocket universe.
5. *Actually let's backtrack to when the alternate reality was just an egg and consider what might have happened if it wound up in the hands of someone else.
6. *Back to the possible UY Fatesplits, there's weirder ideas to choose from.
