There's been a rash of cursed items of late that have a tendency to change people into monstrous, though strangely attractive and usually female forms. There is a secret plot here however. These friendly, more or less human fake monsters are intended to provide camouflage for the real, evil monsters. After all, how determined would most hunters be if the monster they're about to slay is just an innocent victim physically changed as a sort of decoy?
Lilith Brand Body Wash, cleverly packaged in various appearances that make them similar to other sorts of soaps is one of the more well known of these traps. The victims of this soap will find, after first using it, that they have become a sort of demoness with a long tail, horns and cloven feet. Some occasionally have wings but few can fly. Their skin is usually red but can come in other colors and the whites of their eyes have turned black while the irises have turn red or yellow. Most have to relearn how to walk again, and sometimes have to relearn human modesty.
Tepes Brand Ketchup is another one and those who taste it end up becoming an imitation vampire and acquiring a heavy appetite for blood or at least bloody meat as well as copious amounts of ketchup and other red-colored sauces. Most of these new pseudo-vampires appear female with only 25% of male victims retaining their gender. Their skin color ranges from a pale white to a cold, dead blue with the occasional ashen grey. Eyes range from red to white in color and have obvious fangs as well. Some have pointed ears.
Lycan Bites are a sour candy with multiple fruity flavors. However, those who taste them seem to be infected with a sort of lycanthropy which. Extremes of emotion are prone to provoke shape changes that seem dependent on the emotion in question. Most seem to result in a sexy wolf girl of varying degrees of furriness, but occasionally a girl will become a full wolf or an at-first terrifying hybrid humanoid creature. Like the fake demonesses, these seem to have to relearn human modesty after infection.
Kumiho Cosmetics turn those that apply them into sexy, seductive fox girls, at least in appearance. Though their personalities remain mostly the same they do become a bit more flirty and sexual. The relative foxiness of these fox girls vary from subject to subject, but all have at least one tail and fox ears. Most seem to have become Asian, often Japanese or Korean, though there are the occasional "reynard" girls that have Nordic or French features and accents. A small percentage seem to keep their old ethnicity, accent or both. A smaller percentage of male victims retain that gender. Though all seem to acquire a taste for kimonos or other Asian clothing.
Lagoon Shampoo turns the users into mostly sexy women that are either fishy or reptilian, it's hard to tail. They still possess a sort of alien beauty with shimmering scales webbed fingers, diaphanous fins like wings coming off their backs and strange eyes. Like the werewolves and demoneses, most seem to forget human modesty.
All these victims retain their human soul and most are no more dangerous than a particularly strong human male. Nor do they take on the weaknesses of the real thing, such as silver, daylight, crosses or exorcisms. However, they become more heavily active magically.
Of course, among the tens of thousands being subjected to these products there are hiding real life monsters that are waiting for the furor to die down and for people to accept these girls, and their eventual offspring, as just another sort of people. And then they'd be able to more fluidly blend into society to work their evil will.
