Sorting through the stuff aisle, Jim came a cross a box labeled 'cat o' nine tails'dot dot dot, there being no room for the rest of the description. Was it carried around to the side or back?
He couldn't bother to find out. He wasn't into S&M games. (B&D? Okay.) And he was about to pass it by when he noticed it shuddering and trying to move on the shelf. Something was alive in it?
Paying more attention, he now noticed that the dots were air holes. And paying even closer attention he saw an eye peeking out from each hole.
An eye? Three eyes? What kinda animal has three eyes? This place was kinda creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky. Even ooky. Was the thing inside (it couldn't be Thing. Thing had no eyes.) something that would fit in with an Addams Family setting? "A literal cat with nine tails?" And three eyes?
As curious as a cat, now, Jim opened the lid of the box.
What he found was a busty but miniature woman in a catsuit that had nine.... "Those aren't cat tails? And where's the third eye?"
"You don't really want me to have a third eye, do you? I can have one, though, if you want me to."
"Not really. Now that I see how beautiful you look, it would spoil the view. Do you have those nine tails just so there'll be no false advertising, even though you aren't what people think of when they think of cat o' nine tails."
"No, they're mine? See?" she said, presenting her rear to him. "They're not part of the costume. In fact, the costume is part of the tails."
"Run that by me again??"
"What do the tails remind you of? Come on, you must of grown up and seen picture books with an animal with a tail, one tail, like these."
Jim did think back to his childhood books with animals in them. "A fox?"
"Right! You win me! I'll be your devoted pet, now, Master!" And she leaped out of the box and grew to full petite girl size on her way to the floor.
"How, how, what? No, how did you do that??'
"What is the right answer. I'm one of the famous shape-shifters of Japan." And she bowed to him. She was smiling a very mischievous smile when she rose up and looked at him again. "I'm a fox o' nine tails. Westernized for non-anime fans as a cat."
