Staring at the mirror, looking at Sharon's body, Jim felt a panic rising up in him (her?). Jim looked around. Sharon's house, Sharon's bedroom, Sharon's clothes. She was fully dressed and looked like she was getting ready to go out.
Jim closed his eyes. Told himself this couldn't be happening. Tried to relax and calm down.
When I open my eyes, he thought to himself, I'll be Jim. I'll be back in my room. I'll be surfing the web. I WILL be Jim.
But even while thinking this, Jim could feel the clothes hugging a curvy backside. Sharon's curvy backside. Jim could feel a bra holding a pair of wonderful, symmetrical breasts that he had loved to cup and tease. And he hated to think it, but he felt like he was a foot shorter. He had always had a thing for short, chesty girls and while Sharon was a bit lacking in the chesty department, the height thing made up for it. At some angles, Sharon's B-cups looked like C-Plus.
Now he was wearing those B-cups. And very tight jeans. Jim felt that if he opened his eyes, he'd be looking in the mirror into Sharon's blue eyes framed beneath Sharon's long blond hair. He would BE Sharon, and there would be nothing he could do about it. So Jim refused to open his eyes.
But the feeling of panic was growing and growing. This isn't happening, this isn't happening. If I don't open my eyes, it isn't real. It isn't real. When the phone rang. Jim shrieked and opened his eyes. The girly shriek did more than looking in the mirror did. He ran to the phone, in a panic noticing in some part of his mind that how different walking was now with these hips. He had the sense to look at caller id. It was his number. He picked up and heard his voice.
"Jim?" came Jim's voice over the phone
"Sharon?" Jim responded, cringing internally at the sound of Sharon's voice coming out of his mouth.
"What the hell is going on?"
"I don't know! I was sitting at the computer and all of the sudden, I'm in your bathroom!"
"I was putting on my makeup, I'm late for meeting Carrie at the mall. I'm supposed to be getting ready for my birthday party! Did you do this to me?"
Hearing his own voice getting angrier and angrier caused something inside Jim to break. He started crying.
"I don't know what happened! I was looking at a website, and then I was here! And I'm you!"
Jim heard his voice sigh over the phone. "Jeez! Calm down will you?"
Jim went from panicked to angry "Calm down!?! I'm a girl! I don't want to be a girl!"
"How do you think I feel? I don't want to be a guy either. Look, why don't you come over here. Show me what happened. The keys to my car are by the front door. I'll call Carrie and make up something. No, wait. You have to call Carrie! She won't believe I'm Sharon."
"I can't call her! What do I say?"
"Fine. Just come over then. And bring my cell phone and my purse. The purple one by the door. My car is parked two houses up. OK?"
"OK. I'll be there in a bit"
"Great. Hurry up."
Jim hung up Sharon's phone. He could not believe how calm Sharon sounded. Jim felt in the middle of an emotional storm Terror, anger, sorrow, all were swimming around inside like a thunderstorm. He thought he was going to start crying again. He tried to calm himself down. After a while, he figured out he was as calm as he was going to get.
Jim went downstairs and out.
