As Jim walked through what appeared to be his house, he wondered: (a) how the carnival of virtual reality had copied his home, (b) why everything looked and felt so convincingly real and (c) how the heck he could leave the virtual system.
There was no way that his house could fit inside the tent, so it wasn't a simple holodeck arangement, and Jim didn't remember putting on a virtual reality helmet or anything. He tried to remove one anyway, and just ended up pulling his hair.
Jim froze. He pinched himself on the arm, then twisted his nipples. It felt far too painfully real.
Slowly Jim became convinced that somehow he - she - was experiancing actual reality.
