Jim pondered for a moment, then followed Nemesis into the Blitzspear. Thinking about what he’d allowed Linger to do, he felt deeply disturbed. He’d always thought himself a basically decent man, but as soon as he had power…. he had to do something to redress the balance.
Nemesis paused, surveying the complex array of instruments on the control panel.
“There. Got it. We’ll have to move fast, Jim.”
Without any sense of acceleration, the Blitzspear shot away. Apparently satisfied with his craft, Nemesis turned back to Jim.
“You might find this useful; a Khaos charm.” The alien Warlock threw him a small badge, of eight diverging arrows. Jim clipped it onto his jacket.
From the viewscreen, Jim could see that the Blitzspear was now hovering outside a ….
