The familiar coconut headed schoolgirl stared, a very curious expression on her face as she examined the atomic amulet. Obviously she knew it was a piece of jewelry, and the seam that let it split into two amulets was just as obvious as well. But where had it come from? Why had there been that flash of light?

She was unusually quiet as she wondered about these very important questions, nearly audible thought balloons appearing overhead as she did.

Of course Mako, being Mako, possessed thought processes that most might find utterly incomprehensible, and it was just those incomprehensible thought processes that lead her to decide...

To put the amulet around her own neck, and then yank it into it's two halves! For fun!
To just give the whole amulet to Ryuko, she only had one set of clothing, so she could use something nice!
To split the amulet in half and give half to Ryuko and half to Satsuki, they were sisters after all, they needed something cute and matching like this!
To split it in half and put one half around her own neck to wear, although obviously she should give the other half away... but to who? Oh! There was Nonon!
To give the two halves to the most important girls in her life, obviously! Her best friend Ryuko and her mother!
