Nabiki was evil for the most part, unmotivated and reactionary yes but evil nonetheless. Still, she wasn't all bad. Sure she would blackmail people and sell Ranma off to others but she did do one thing that was undoubtably good. She made a charity.
It was after Ranma's own mother reentered Ranma's life that Nabiki was forced to face with a situation and a guilt that she hid. She didn't spend many years with her own mother but she enjoyed them and to not have one anymore saddened Nabiki more than anything. She tried her best to hide this fact though. However at certain times it did get seen to other people but she was able to brush it off.
The guilt ate her up though. She knew she wasn't responsible for her mother's death but that didn't matter. She could do something now but chose not to. And seeing Ranma's eyes even when forced to hide, Nabiki knew she should do something. But something public would hurt her or not be seen as a true act of goodness. Fortunately for her she knew how to use the internet and had a serviceable laptop.
She made a name for herself and by using the web, she created a charity to battle disease. What made her stand out however was her tenacity and lack of morals to get the funding. She blackmailed, lied, stole, and tricked those in power to help promote the charity and to donate. She even hired someone to be the face of it and endorse the charity. Doing the right thing in a rather wrong way was fitting of Nabiki. With no Ranma or Akane to disturb or distract her, she generated billions of yen.
But just as she was feeling good in her heart something went completely wrong.
