Hue knew what would clear her mind. Running had been a relaxing experience since she was a young teen. It was a freeing experience to see the world pass by as she listened to her music, or simply thought about things. Hue ran along the familiar road, thinking about what the camera had done.
She was just over twenty years older, and a mother. Her best friend was now the best friend of her mother, who was her own daughter. That was confusing. At the same time she could remember accomplishing so much in those twenty years. They weren't taken away from her, it was just that she had lived them earlier. And she was best friends with Raiko instead now. Raiko Orihara had been like an aunt to her, and now they were just closer. She had even been able to compete and win on the greatest athletic stage in the world! The more Bue thought about it, the more she was happy with her life.
Hue's thoughts were interrupted as she heard a voice. "Well if it isn't the hasbeen. Trying to relive the glory days?" Hue turned and saw Hillary Livingston. Hillary was a couple years younger than Hue, and a local rival. Hillary believed herself to be the better athlete, and took any chance to compete.
"What do you want Hillary?" Hue sighed, annoyed that her thoughts had been interrupted.
"Just seeing my competition for the marathon in a couple days. Do you serious think you can keep up with me? I mean you are getting old, and I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself." Hillary sneered as she kept pace alongside Hue, her brunette hair bouncing on her shoulders as she ran.
Hue looked to the petite woman. "I'm in the best shape of my life. You don't need to worry about me." Hue calmly replied.
"Is that why your team asked you to leave before the next Olympics?" Hillary asked in a superior tone.
"I left the team to be with my family. I've proven myself, and I'm happy with what I've accomplished." Hue replied as she focused on her run.
Dissappointed Hue hadn't taken her bait Hillary made a turn at the next street. "I guess we'll just see at the marathon." She said as she ran off.
