Mitch slumped down on the sofa, a brief moment to himself before Monique would get home from the office. He'd just dropped Juggs off at the strip club after another sexual marathon and he knew that Monique would want some company. He heard a car pull up into the drive, sighing he willed himself to his feet and headed to the kitchen. As the front door opened he dropped a lime slice into a gin and tonic, "Welcome home sweetheart" Mitch said offering Monique the drink.
"Oh thank you Mitch" Monique said with a smile, taking a sip, "Mmm that hit the spot"
"Rough day?" Mitch asked, leading her into the living room.
"Yeah you could say that" Monique replied, sighing as she sat down and slipped her shoes off, "Where's Jenna?"
"Juggs is at the strip club" answered Mitch with a smile, still amused by her politeness.
"Good" Monique said sitting up right and looking into Mitch's eyes, "We need to talk about her" she added, looking serious.
"Oh?" Mitch asked concerned, "What has she done now?" he added, he couldn't believe how much hard work it was being intimate with two different women, especially two very different women.
"I'm getting a lot of heat from my bosses about her and my living arrangement" Monique said after a moments thought.
"What kind of heat?" Mitch asked concerned.
"The kind that can get me fired" Monique answered flatly.
"They can't fire you for living with certain types of people!" Mitch snapped defensively.
"They can if my actions bring the company into disrepute" Monique countered, "Living with a stripper puts me in a negative light which puts the company into a negative light. Who wants to be represented by a lawyer who lives with a stripper?" Monique explained.
"Well, yeah I guess, but still, can't they just give you more selective clients?" offered Mitch.
"So you want my bosses to sideline me? Thanks a lot Mitch, real supportive!" Monique snapped, knocking back a mouthful of her drink.
"No no I didn't mean like that I… I don't know what you want me to do?" Mitch asked confused.
"Don't be mad" Monique said turning to face Mitch
"About what?" He asked worried once more.
"Jenna needs to move out" Monique declared
"What!?" Mitch gasped shocked, "You just want to turn her out onto the streets? I know she's pretty loose but that's just cruel!" Mitch defended, "Do you not love her any more? Do you not love me?"
"Oh god you know I love you both!" Monique exclaimed, taking Mitch's hand in hers, "But this is my job we're talking about here and besides, you can use that magical power of yours to give her a place to live and be safe" Monique explained, stopping Mitch dead, she was right he could just use his BlueBerry to solve this matter but did Juggs have to move out? Surely there was another way?
"Yeah, that's true I suppose" Mitch admitted, "But why does she have to move out? I could just as easily make it so everyone doesn't care that you live with a striper" Mitch suggested.
"Aren't we partners Mitch?" Monique asked, shuffling up closer to Mitch, "You've done all these changes to Jenna that she's asked for, don't think I didn't see those tattoo's you gave her or her extended tongue, but I have to fight for the smallest things from you" Monique turned away to let her words sink in.
"I give you what I can Monique and what you ask for, maybe I've just not been listening as intently as you'd like?" Mitch offered. Monique looked back to Mitch.
"Well you know what I want, I want Juggs out so I can continue my career as a lawyer, I think her living away will be fine for all of us, it'll give you some time to yourself, I see how exhausted you are looking after the both of us, and Jenna will have a place of her own where she can be as free as she likes" They shared a silent moment, Monique finished off her drink, "I'm going to have a shower while you think about it" she kissed him gently on the cheek as she left.
With a sigh Mitch collapsed back into the sofa, "What a mess" he said to himself, thinking his options over. Yes, he could just make everyone fine with the current set up, but Monique would be aware of the change and be disappointed, he could just tweak her mind so she didn't realise he'd made the change but then he'd gotten really close to Monique and didn't feel comfortable making that kind of change to her without her permission. He gave Jenna a quick call but it went straight to voice message, which meant she was already on her knees working. The prospect of having more time to himself was appealing but was it worth booting his original girlfriend out of the house for? He could even of course move in with Juggs and leave Monique alone but that left an empty sinking in his stomach. Needing a distraction Mitch put the TV on and awaited for a sign.
