Ranma was strolling down the street, minding her own business as she enjoyed her ice cream cone, when a peculiar sight caught her attention: in front of a convenience store, one which she was quite familiar with, was a statue of a golden dragon that hadn't been there previously and really looked out of place. She paused to give it a once-over, and noted the space around the shoulder that belonged to the raised arm, which suggested that it might be possible to move said arm. As she tried to figure out what its purpose might be, due to no obvious signs that it was of the same nature as the vending machines nearby, a man wearing a tabard apron — one of the shop's employees — came out of the store and approached her, who seemed about to address her before they noticed what she was looking at. "What's that doing there?" He asked, confused. Ranma regarded the man and blinked her eyes incredulously. "What, you guys didn't put this here?" The man shook his head. "I haven't heard anything about it, and I didn't see it when I got here this morning." Ranma spared her ice cream cone a lick and frowned, before she decided to investigate the dragon-things arm on an impulse. "Well, let's see if we can find out what this is, then..." The man, being familiar with both Ranma and the goings on around Nerima, quickly huddled behind a nearby A-frame sign, not that it would provide much in the way of protection against anything dangerous. Ranma didn't notice that as she pulled the arm down, and after some disconcerting noises and wobbling, the dragon's belly opened up and spat out a gold-colored egg that sparkled in the light. Curious despite herself, she picked it up from the ground and... |
