So I realize this was a bit long, but things just kept coming to me. I really wanted to do the nighttime Lily scene. It seems too perfect for a girl in love who is too shy to ask her crush out and yet has a seriously strong sex drive to end up doing something like that.
I figure that it's pretty obvious to the other two that they both like each other, even before this incident.
Operation Matchmaker, BEGIN! I really like how Alice is turning out to be the bold one in this group. Well, Maria is also surprisingly bold. It takes guts for a monster and a princess to run away together, after all. They make a good pair. Hmm...
And the mystery of how Lily's going to heal up overnight is revealed! To Alice, anyway. Come to think of it, Lily could probably sustain herself indefinitely if she was ever trapped in an oubliette or something. Producing your own food and water is a good survival talent to have.
On that note, I suspect "she wasn't sure how Maria was still going. She was actually doing okay in these easy battles despite the lack of nourishment" was supposed to mention Lily rather than Maria, since Lily's the one who hadn't eaten anything.
Hmm, Lily's sleeping on her back. She didn't have any trouble sleeping at the inn, either - which suggests that her unfamiliar chest isn't as uncomfortable to lie on or breathe beneath as you might expect. I guess her BE must have included the "required secondary powers" - which makes sense, since it'd suck to get an ability orb that limits your abilities.
Anyway, I'll have to think about which of these options to take; There's too many interesting possibilities...
And here I thought I had finally gotten through one of these without making a mistake, and yeah, that should be fixed.
We basically have a girl who can survive long periods of time off her own heavy lactation. It's pretty crazy but also sexy so it's good xD
I wonder if Lily will be forced to sleep on her side once she grows even bigger (since it's Lily, of course she will). She won't be able to sleep face-down for another reason: the pressure will cause everyone to be soaked in a huge puddle of milk by morning!
Maybe we should bring in problems next time she grows? She probably will with her next milk-based ability orb, whenever that is! Another cup size or two may just put her over the edge.
Well, it'd be awkward if she was so inconvenienced that she could no longer function effectively as the party's fighter... Though ability orbs seem to come with instinctive knowledge of how to use them, so I guess that would allow her to avoid most of the problems with balance and kinesthetic memory and such. Or perhaps she could pick up a "gravity defying" ability orb as a reward for a future quest. Or maybe this universe allows PCs to gain stats rapidly through leveling, and the improved strength and agility will easily offset the disadvantage her chest would otherwise present? In any case, I guess we'll find out when she gets her next orb.
Incidentally, my plan is that if Lily manages to level up the lactation ability she already has, it'll increase the number of people she can sustainably support. That particular ability should probably take a long time to level, though, since it's unlikely the party will grow much.
Speaking of which, I'm guessing that the person who's the driving force behind a quest is the one who gets the ability orb for it - Which is why Lily got the orb for choosing to help Maria and Alice instead of fighting them, and why Maria's likely to end up being rewarded for the current one. On the other hand, following this policy strictly could lead to a situation where we run out of ability ideas for particularly proactive characters, so maybe following that policy strictly isn't the best idea.
I'm sure she'll be able to be an effective fighter whatever we do for her! I already have explanations ready to work with any of these changes, so this shouldn't be hard for us.
I like your milk level-up idea! Sounds like her new abilities can give her size boosts and the level-ups give her milk production boosts.
That was my first thought as well. Lily would be the toughest to write for as she really is pretty shy at times. She'd be much less likely to reach out to random people when with the other three. One idea to get around this: maybe we should have Lily, as the main protagonist, learn her new abilities through beating bosses. She'd be the one with the knowledge to push the story forward, after all, and plenty of games have new abilities that come after beating bosses. I'm definitely not set on that but I think it could make sense. Her combo skills could still come from sidequests if we do that, though.
Actually, I just thought of something. There's no rule saying there's only one ability orb awarded per side quest; Simply by virtue of leading the party occasionally, Lily could claim partial credit for some side quests and pick up some ability orbs that way. (So could other characters - in fact, this might be a good way of determining which combo abilities get distributed. We have no shortage of ability ideas, after all.)
On that note, progress along the main quest (whatever it ends up being) is probably something that Lily could gain ability orbs for. The main quest line presumably consists of a series of quest-like objectives, and (particularly since she has some idea what's going to happen and is the type to rescue princesses if she knows they need rescuing) Lily is likely to want to achieve those objectives - so I suspect she'll earn a few ability orbs as rewards for progressing (or sabotaging) the main quest line.
Fixed Maria/Lily.
That idea works nicely, whether they get two single skills or a double. Some of those combo skills are legitimately fun too.
Hm, a group with a princess saving another princess sounds fun. Maybe someday!
Also thanks Adama!
Hey, just checking since it's been about a week. Are you still working on the reply? If you can't come up with anything I can try to make something that'll hopefully be easier to build off of if it helps!
I've been having trouble, to tell the truth. I've tried continuing this in a few different ways (mostly going off options 2 and 3), but none of my ideas went anywhere interesting that made sense. I decided I'd give myself a week, and it's been seven days; I don't think I'll be able to extend any of this episode in a timely fashion.
Okay, glad I asked to make sure then. I'll try to come up with something this weekend and hopefully that will give you something you can build off of.
I think I have something that works, as long as I can come up with enough options to build off of it. I'll get an episode up Sunday if I can.
