Going to the clinic had turned out to be a bust. None of Megan's former co-workers had given Felicia any information that would of proven useful to her case. Felicia was practically back to square one. Worst of all she needed to keep her promise to Sofia, least not tempt the Godfather's wrath. So away to the Mexican restaurant it was.
"Your going to love it here. I can guarantee this place is life changing," at least Sofia hoped she was able to charm her way into Felicia's heart. Failing that, her pants.
"Right. They better have Negra Modelo on tap." Felicia huffed.
They both entered the restaurant, Sofia asked for a table for two. The host smiled, "Ah, Ms. Mosconi, there is a table already waiting for you."
Sofia was confused, "But I didn't make a reservation..."
"Not necessary. Your mother arrived earlier, saying she was expecting two others for dinner with her. Her daughter and a lovely young woman." The host smiled, beginning to lead both of them to the table Angela was sitting at.
Sofia was fuming, Felicia was trying not to panic, and Angela smiled at them both. "Sofia, so good to see you darling." Angela got up, kissed both her daughter's cheeks, and gave her a hug. She whispered softly in Sofia's ear, "I know what your trying to do. It won't work while I'm still breathing."
Angela stopped hugging her daughter only to give the same treatment to Felicia Daily. Though Felicia was treated to slower, more sensual kisses on the cheek and a warmer hug. "Felicia, its been ages."
"Yeah, been busy with work and all. Hey, you know if this joint serves tequila?" It was going to be a long night.
"Most likely, they have the most eloquent margaritas. Come, sit, relax in the company of good friends." Angela hated to take her hands off the detective, but she had to as she returned to her seat.
The evening remained...pleasant. Mother and daughter attempted to out wit each other throughout the evening. Felicia was caught in the middle of them, literally. The evening discussions was a tongue twister of back handed complements, attempts to woo Felicia, and the telling of embarrassing stories. All the while Felicia was having herself drink after drink, wondering if she could use a smoke break as an excuse to escape these crazy women. At least the food was as good as Sofia said it would be.
"So, I heard that my daughter has been assisting you in your latest investigation..." Angela brought up, hopping to direct the conversation towards Felicia talking for a change.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, yeah, she's been a real help. Got me out of a jam back at Loft and Six." Felicia took a sip of water and played with her food.
"I heard that you've been sent to investigate my daughter-in-law to be. Why is that?" Angela leaned in to appear interested in what Felicia had to say. In all honesty, she already knows what Felicia's investigation was all about. But it was still something to discuss.
"Looking in on how to make sure Megan Thomas is down with the hood team, ha, ha." Felicia giggled. Okay, maybe she was a bit drunk.
"I may have some things that might help further your investigation along." Angela smiled.
Sofia reacted, "I can get you information too, a lot better than my mother's."
"If its all the same, ladies, any and all information would be greatly appreciated no matter the source." Felicia admitted. She was a bit wobbly in her chair.
"Oh you poor dear. A bit too much to drink? I've already paid the bill and tipped the staff handsomely. Allow me to help you home. I could have Lorenzo bring the car around." Angela offered.
"That's awfully nice, mother, but Felicia will be taken home by me. I brought her here. All her belongings are in my car." Sofia glared at her mother.
"But my car has better seating to support a person in such a state. Rich leather is good for the back." Angela chuckled.
"My car has character and all her belongings." Sofia reminded.
"They can be moved." The two women were fighting over who would take Felicia home. All the while Felicia sat there, contemplating what she was going to do next. She was clueless about how to "solve her case," directionless because she was in a part of town she didn't recognize, being fought over by two beautiful woman, and drunk as a skunk. Could this day get any more dramatic?
