Crap. Forgot to sign my name and realized it like a second after I clicked the button.
Anyway, sorry that this is so short. The level of struggling I had to put this into words was actually dumb. It's not because of the set-up or anything, it's just how I am right now.
Going with 3 would be my original idea on how to handle this but the others are fine too. You'll probably be able to write the rest of this encounter (or next section, anyway) better than I will right now.

I know that "struggling to find the right words" feeling well. It's all perfectly clear in your head, but whenever you try to write it down, you end up with something slightly... off. What was the Mark Twain quote? "The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter. 'Tis the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning."
Anyway, my first instinct after reading this was to extend option 2 - but now that you've suggested option 3, I've started getting ideas for that, as well. Hmm... I'll have to think about it for a while. (Oh, but I should probably finish off the S&S episode I'm working on, first. Sorry for the delay.)
