Kara felt strange, and not just because J'anny had just touched her. She felt like her mind was floating somewhere independent of her body. Like she was up in a cloud...
Oooh, you like making people feel good too, don't you?
Kara nodded slightly, and thoughts of all of her past heroic deeds bubbled to the surface of her mind. Big things like stopping entire planes from crashing or saving entire cities from supervillains, all the way to small things like just getting a kitten out of a tree or sticking up for a little girl that was getting bullied.
But what a boring way to do it! You should feel good too! You deserve it, don't you?
Kara did deserve it. It was weird, she'd gone from thinking about all those moments that made her feel happy and proud to be a superhero, to those few bad times she'd had where she felt like she deserved more for all the good she did for the world, like nobody was really doing enough for her. Somehow those feelings started to bleed over to all her acts of heroism. All those ungrateful people, not making her feel good too...
Wait, Kara thought, that's not right. I'm Supergirl. It's not about me, it's about helping others, and...
A playful giggle rippled through her mind, destroying her train of thought. It's okay, a voice that sounded a whole lot like J'anny's interjected, soothingly. I know a great way for people to thank you. I think you do too.
Kara's mild frown was replaced by a coquetteish smile. She was initially imagining being kissed by guys she'd had feelings for in the past, but images of other men and even women were starting to seep in too, and they were starting to do way more than just kiss her. It was so nice, it was what she deserved, and...
"-- wait, what the frak? Kara, are you okay? Snap out of it!"
Felicity's interruption had drawn J'Anny's focus away long enough that Kara blinked a few times and was brought back to reality. Felicity was still talking, saying something to Diggle that made him go away from the monitor and usher her away from J'anny and to Team Arrow's resident hacker.
"Sorry, Felicity, I'm fine," Kara replied. "I just have a lot on my mind, that's all. I think the stress with this whole salon thing is getting to me. I just want everyone to be okay."
Felicity still looked slightly wary but nodded. "Me too. Maybe I can find something useful on the deep web, I don't know, it feels like everything's going crazy all around me. While I'm doing that, do you think maybe you could, uh... do something about Ollie up there? We need his head in the game and not... where it currently is."
Kara looked over at the monitor and saw that Ollie was eating some lady out. That seemed weird, but Kara was almost surprised that it didn't seem weirder. Maybe she did a really nice thing for him? It was worth investigating.
"Sure, Felicity, you can rely on me. Mild-mannered Kara Danvers is on the case!"
As Supergirl made her way to the exit, getting ready to make a quick-change to her alter ego, she noticed that J'anny was looking straight at her with the weirdest smile on her face. Kara smiled back. Maybe she'd been too harsh on her after all.
