"Didn't you hear?" he said, scratching his head slightly. "New trainers in Hoenn are required to go naked at all times when they begin their journeys. It's a relatively recent rule, only put into place the past month or so, but I figured the daughter of a Gym Leader would already be on top of that."
Brendan nodded. "I was lucky enough to officially start out a week before the requirement took effect... can't say I would have minded too much, though. Apparently traveling naked really helps you acclimate to nature and bond with your team and wild Pokemon..."
May groaned. "Are... you can't be serious, can you? People are expected to travel across the region looking... looking like..."
"Like you, yes," Birch stated. "There's a bit more to it than that, though - I believe I have some printouts documenting all the requirements..."
As the professor dug through his bag, Brendan put a hand on May's shoulder. "Look, it'll be fine, alright? Most anyone with any authority already knows, so you won't get in trouble for being naked, and they'll be expecting it anyway. And you seem cute enough that people probably aren't going to mind."
Well, duh, thought May. They won't mind if they can stare.
As she was about to reply, though, Birch lifted up a sheet of paper. "Here we go! Alright, May, the exact requirements are right here. Don't worry, it's not much more than you're already doing." He handed the sheet to May, who read up on the new rules set up for her...
