After two hours of driving and fucking, the group finally arrived at their destination. They got out the van, some on wobbly legs. Everyone’s legs wobbled even more as they looked at the house.
“Mansion”, as it turned out, was the apt description for the beach house. It occupied the same width as three normal houses put next to each other. It had three floors and was decorated with what appeared to be beach wood. It looked more appropriate for a 1920s American nouveau riche mansion on Long Island than a Japanese beach house.
There was a pause before Ichiko spoke. “So… you guys wanna check it out?”
“Y-Yeah.” Even though Charlotte lived in a house like this, it was still surprising to see it in Japan. They all entered through the front door, which had a small bell attached to it. The door lead to a place where they could place their shoes and a lobby-like area that led to several hallways. A woman in her 40s and a formal dress appeared from one of these hallways.
“Miss Ichiko, Miss Chifuyu, it’s good to see you both.”
“It’s good to see you too, Mrs. Haruka. Everyone, this is Haruka Otomine, she’s a maid who helps take care of the house and stays here, even we’re not here.”
“It’s so nice to so many guests in this house; it has never been this crowded before. All of the bedrooms have been prepared, Miss Ichiko, if you would like me to take them up there.”
“No, it’s okay. I was going to show them the house first. Do you know when lunch will be ready?”
“It should be done in a half-hour. I will ask Reynaldo just to make sure.” With that, she walked off.
“So, do you guys want to see your bedrooms first, or look at everything else?” Everyone seemed to want the latter, so that’s what they do.
“OK then, first, the right wing of the first floor is mainly dominated by our library. It has quite a wide collection, which any of you are allowed to borrow at any time. The other major room on this side is a recreation room.
“On the left side of this floor is the dining room and the kitchen. It was the first rooms of this house that were finished, mostly due to the fact that my grandfather was a noted lover of food. As such, being a chef in this house is considered a great honor. The chef here, Mr. Reynoldo de Cruz Michoacán, worked at a four-star restaurant in Brazil for eleven years before coming here. Although the main reason for coming here was so that he could be closer to his wife, Mrs. Haruka.”
The group then went up the staircase. “So, are Haruka and Reynaldo your only two servants?”
“Year-round, yes, but we do hire an extra maid when we come to stay.” They arrived at the second floor.
“For the most part, this floor and the one above it hold the bedrooms, each one of which has its own private bathroom. There are four bedrooms on this floor and four on the one above. The other rooms on this floor are the sea collection room and the nursery my grandfather had made for any travelling family with young children. The only room on the third floor besides the bedrooms is the observatory; one of my grand aunts was an astronomy enthusiast, so it was made for her.
“The bedrooms are set up as thus: The first bedroom on this floor is for me, Char-chan, and Houki-chan; the second bedroom is for Laura-chan and Tate-chan; the third bedroom is for Mom and Maya-san; Rin-chan, Cecilia-chan, and Kanza-chan, each of you get your own bedroom on the third floor.” With that all said, everyone went to check out their abodes.
