"Do you go to school around here? or are you in college?" Jim asked. The spell had added the second question, it seemed obvious that Rick was in High School.
"HA!" he laughed "I'm not yet at college. I'm a senior at Shadow Peak High. I'm waiting to find out where I get accepted to college, but I might take a gap year..."
And here Rick went off into a monologue that let Jim tune out. The spell had added the part about college and Rick had obviously been flattered. Jim wondered how far this was going to go. While eating the hot dog, Jim noticed that he couldn't stop looking at Rick. Something in the spell made it easy to give off the impression that Rick was the most interesting person out there.
The spell really was something. Jim wondered if he could look at Sharon that way.
SHARON!!!! HOLY SHIT IT'S MY GIRLFRIEND'S BIRTHDAY!!
Jim was in a panic, why was he hanging here on a date with Rick! He'd come here to get a present for his girlfriend!!! She was going to be furious.
Then Jim noticed he wasn't actually panicing. He'd tried to stand up, but he couldn't do anything.
Rick seemed to notice. "Is something wrong? You look like you just remembered something."
Jim opened his mouth to say "I have to go." but what came out was: "It's nothing. I just remembered something. You were talking about majoring in technology? Tell me more, I think tech is so cool."
Holy shit! Jim thought, thinking about Sharon back at her place. She was going to dump him for sure! Jim thought about how he could get out of this situation.
