Maggie stared at the slip of paper for just a tad too long, her eyes unfocused, and mind oddly... blank.
And then she came back to herself, staring down at Jess with... humored annoyance?
"Come on! It's just some weird translation. These were rather cheap you know..."
"Okay, I guess?" Jess said turning around. And letting out a surprised cry as she felt her ponytail being gently pulled by her boss. Her hold body went ramrod straight and the pull grew stronger... her hair yanked outward, longer, from the tug. She turned around, surprised angry... and annoyed?
"Hey! What's the big idea-"
Maggie loomed taller now, almost like Jess had lost a quarter inch of height just then, an she shut her mouth with a snap.
"Now Jess, we'e talked about this... no dipping into the baked goods until your break. And don't think I won't forget about this next time you want a freebie."
Jess's mind spun in circles as she nodded, trying to think of a reason this was wrong and finding none. "R-right Boss."
Maggie smiled, nodded and turned back to her own work. While Jess walked off.
Running her hands through her hair, surprised that it didn't hurt... only tingled a bit. The roots going from brunette to dark-green color.
While her skin felt... prickly too. Her tan slightly darkening into an odder, oranger color along the back of her neck.
"Still think there's something weird about those cookies," Jess thought, moving out to see if there were anymore orders to take.
