EZ was pleasantly startled as Mrs. Forbes entered, very primly dressed in business attire but still a lovely shapely woman in her forties.
"Welcome to my corporation, EZ. Please, remain seated. You come highly recommended, but I still wish to make clear what I'm looking for."
"Sure."
"I pride myself on running a corporation in which many women can find a safe and nurturing environment. However, I frequently lose excellent women to ... social entanglements. Their life plans change and they go away. I'd like to compete with that a little, give them something to think extra hard about, to reinforce company loyalty. That's where you can help. Doctors Patterson and Frank tell me that they have you in a special psychology program. As women mature, they must contend with certain feeling of frustration, disappointment, dissatisfaction. They're worried that they're missing out in life and they wonder, Is this all there is? That's where I can use you. As morale counselor, you can help me to persuade them to find life satisfaction by staying."
This was all certainly a lot more involved than anything anyone had bothered to spell out for him, yet EZ was fascinated by the opportunity to try to make good of this. "I will do whatever I can to help."
"Good! Come with me."
EZ followed Mrs. Forbes across a small wilderness of carrels and was impressed by the destination.
"A corner office?"
"If your services are worth it, then you should more than earn it." Mrs. Forbes unlocked it. "Come in and check it out."
