According to all of his reasearch the original Daffy Dominguez was the daughter of a fat black woman named Mattie Dominguez and a mexican immigrant named Juan Carlos Dominguez. They lived localy in a rented house in Washington Park, the black area of town. She'd had three sisters - Tawanda, Shalice and Maria - who lived nearby. She'd dropped out of school after repeating the 9th. grade and then worked for several years at a topless bar ("Sparkies") and as a shampo girl and then nail expert at a black owned beauty salon called "Cleo's". Dafft had a criminal record also, three counts of soliciting and one count of drug possession (marajuana). Daffy had had two abortions, which possibly explained her eagerness to have this child and "Raise her right!" as she often said was her wish. Daffy would caress her swelling belly and croon to her baby in spanish for hours as she ate. Daffy Dominguez had disappeared almost a year ago. She'd been dating a gang member at that time and it was generaly assumed that she'd come to a bad end.
Jim looked-up from his research and noticed that Daffy stood in the doorway to his office. She had come to almost hate the woman she'd once been and would avoid him for hours if he called her Sharon even by accident.
