"Oh, you mean in the AddVenture? Sorry, I was drifting a bit."
Speaking of Dolly and Gidget, why don't they figure in your list of favorite characters? They may be watching this program, you know, you could get in trouble when you get home...
"Well, Dolly's a VR version of a real person, so she's not really a character. In fact, she'd probably be an Avatar if the real person, by some inconceivable perversion of decency, was writing in the AddVenture. And Gidget was once an Avatar, so I can't include her in the list either."
That didn't stop you from including other questionable cases, Roy pointed out.
"I'm not that close to the other cases. I can write about them objectively."
You really like shuffling back and forth through different levels of reality, don't you?
"Yep. Comes in handy sometimes. Though it's really different levels of fictionality, since none of what goes on here is real."
Are you trying to tell me all your answers are lies?
"No, just that the only actual level of reality there is is the one we write this stuff from."
Getting philosophical, are we? Okay, I can dig it. Roy held up a picture of a pipe, and said Is this a pipe?
Dabbler laughed. "No, Roy. It's not a pipe. It's not a picture of a pipe. It's not even you holding up a picture of a pipe. It's words on a screen -- at least from my point of view. And if someone prints out the screen it'll be words on paper. Who's getting off-topic now?"

Dabbler pouted. "We were talking about characters," he said, changing the subject.
No, said Roy, we were talking about the future. You wrote me into digressing. So what about the future? What do you have in mind? In fact, before you start twisting that, why don't I be more specific. What do you -- the real you -- have in mind to write in the BE AddVenture from this time forth?
"You really know how to straightjacket a guy," Dabbler whined.
No, you do. That being the case, why don't you answer me, or rather, answer you?
"Very well. My in-AddVenture plans are indefinite at this stage except for more Backstage description. I might have mentioned that I'm working on a multi-ep thread I'll eventually be posting all at once that will fill in a significant hole in the Backstage map. Beyond that, I'll probably do more fill-in eps for past threads that have been concluded but not completed, and continue to add to threads I find of interest. I also hope to finish and post the floor plans for the Author suites that have been described in the AddVenture so far. (Which reminds me, Roy, when are you going to finish describing yours, so I can fill in the grey areas?) And I'll probably do more translations of German episodes for Adama, even though Vampire Miyu is proving to be a lot better at it. I can't really be much more definite than that."

"I'm done. Unless you have any other questions you'd like to ask."
