"Come with us if you want to live," one of the soldiers says.
"We'll do whatever you want," Morgan answered, Beth nodded her head in agreement. Neither of the girls saw any reason to look a gift horse in the mouth, the fact that their rescuers were Hunters notwithstanding. They'd just have to worry about that later. "Good," the lead soldier said, and then motioned to the soldier on his right. The soldier put his helmet back on and then pointed at Morgan, "Out." Morgan hesitated only a moment before she stepped out of the cage. And then the soldier stepped into it. In just a few seconds Beth's shackles were unlocked and the young woman was freed. When she got out of the cage she immediately gave Morgan a heartfelt hug. Morgan noticed that at no time did the third soldier fail to have his gun pointed straight at her.
The lead soldier then activated his com-transmitter. "Bravo Leader, this is Gun-Four. Targets have been acquired, enroute to rendezvous." The reply was quick and to the point. "Gun-Four, this is Bravo Leader. Expedite return, be careful of traps." And then another explosion rocked the room, this one a lot closer.
With Gun-Four in the lead and his two seconds at the rear, Beth and Morgan were led through the odd complex that Theresa Beaumont had trapped them in. Neither of the girls had any idea of just where it was they had been imprisoned. When they finally made it outside they were quite shocked to discover that they were downtown, in the heart of the business district of the city.
And then a garbage truck rumbled down the alleyway they were in. Morgan instantly looked for a way to escape her rescuers - whatever the Hunters were up to it couldn't be for her own good. Maybe she could use the oncoming garbage truck as some kind of diversion.
