Out of breath. He ran down the hall as fast as his girth would allow. He had to catch her; he would catch her. "Ruthanne!" He watched her turn; she would be his.
"Hey, Steve," Ruthanne said with her charming smile. His pants got tight.
"Ruthanne, you forgot your check. Here." He began to hand her the check but stopped halfway through and adopted a puzzled expression. "What the..." Fiegned frustration. " Oh man, sorry Ruthanne, I got the wrong check."
She just smiled and layed her delicate hand on his arm; her beautiful brown eyes looking into his. His heart nearly stopped as he watched her red pouty lips move. "That's alright, Steve. It's an honest mistake." What a goddess.
"I just...damn." He knew the swear would get to her.
"Steve! Now you know that's no way to talk. We are to be the salt and the light to this earth, you know that. Please try to watch your language, at least while you're in the studio." That warm smile never left her angelic face.
"Geez, I'm so sorry Ruthanne. Sometimes I just forget." Yeah right, he thought, you should hear me at home. "I promise I'll do better. The lord will see me through. Now, about that check: if you have time we could go get the right one. It's in my office, it'll just take a minute." Teasin' slut.
Ruthanne looked down at her watch and frowned.
