Sharon turned to the other girls, who were also taking in their new surroundings, which she guessed were superior to what most of them were used to. "I suppose we ought to introduce ourselves," she said. "I only know Angela's name. After that, I'll explain why you are here, and try to give you an idea of what you can expect to be in for -- as much as I know myself, at least. I'm Sharon." She offered what she hoped was a endearing smile to the five other girls, who clustered in a bunch a couple paces away from her into the room, all regarding her with suspicion no doubt born from Kane's familiar command over her and her own degree of subserviance to the K'Ral stables.
The shortest girl, dark-haired and lithe with Mediterranean features, screwed her full pouty lips into a frown. "Sharon? Then why did he call you Vulpina, eh?" she asked in mildly accented English as she folded her arms underneath her round breasts, pressing against them with her forearms.
Sharon checked what felt like rising irritation at the girl's suspicious tone -- it was a reasonable question, as these girls didn't know anything about her past, and it would do her no good to squabble with the women who would one day be fighting by her side in the arena. Speaking slowly, the gladiatrix said, "My real name is Sharon -- Vulpina is the name the House has given me for our matches in the arena; they expect us all to battle under the name of the Voluptuous Vixens, and I expect you'll all have names of your own before long."
This brought about a rush of questions -- but only from some of the girls, as Sharon noticed the two dark-skinned native twins remained quiet, eyes wide but not saying anything even as the other three beseeched Sharon to tell them more about what sort of training this was, and was she really serious, and what did these new masters expect from them? Sharon cut them off abruptly with a chop of her hands -- "Hold it!! I'll tell you everything I know in turn, but first things first, all right?" She pointed to the pale-skinned farm girl from the north, "You're called Angela, I know that much." Turning to the others, "But the rest of you I don't know" -- she fixed the tall black woman with a determined stare -- "so why don't we start there?"
