The decaying stone ruins of Gatetown loomed like twisted skyscraper canyons around as the runty little demon's cart sped along, the doglike creatures at the yoke puffing and snapping at Sebacious' lash as he urged them on, throwing nervous glances over his hunched, bony shoulders at the two women riding in his cart. Lorna was sitting cool and regal, but the hurried uneven progress of the cart over the rubble and pothole-strewn streets, as well as the ominous surroundings, was jarring Donna's wits.
The rattle of wheels on cobblestones and the baying of the terror dogs almost drowned out Lorna's low hiss to her. "We need to pull a fast one." Donna blinked, wincing suddenly as a particuarly bad bump sent her tailbone bouncing, and rubbed her buttock gingerly as she shook her head, keeping her voice low in prisonyard-whisper style to avoid Sebacious' attention. "What do you mean?"
"I mean Sebacious here isn't the only one who's noticed your arrival, dear, just the only one stupid enough to make a public point about it. Word gets around, people will be curious, questions will be asked, gates will be watched." The succubus' eyes flashed red as the greasy driver half-glanced and then hurriedly redirected his attention back to the road. "I'm telling you, that charm has got to go before we set foot in Hell. I know a place where Seb can take us that we can hopefully pull the ol' switcheroo, but if you don't get with the program and do as when in Rome, I'm not going to be able to do shit for you."
Not waiting for an answer, the succubus reached out with her crimson tail to flick the back of the demon's mangy skull, causing him to wince and turn around. Lorna flashed him a warm, hollow smile. "Seb, be a dear. My friend and I want a makeover."
