"I'm sorry," Jim said. "I don't recognize it."
Mr. Williams sighed. "You're dismissed."
Jim stood up. "I'm sorry for taking up your valuable time-"
"Not you," Mr. Williams interrupted. "The others. You may leave."
The various men (and Johnson) stood up from their seats and filed out the door.
The door closed, and Jim and Mr. Williams were alone in the room.
"Mr. Ellis, thee are things in this world which you do not know of. Some things would destroy you, others empower you." Mr. Williams said.
"I still don't understand how it applies to me," Jim said. "Could you explain it?"
Mr. Williams was silent for a moment, then asked, "Do you mind if I smoke?"
When Jim said yes, Mr. Williams lit up a cigarette.
"Mr. Ellis, even if you don't remember it, you've had experiences that are relevant, and in fact, directly relate to the situation at hand." Mr. Williams explained, puffing on his cigarette. "I feel if it would be best if you know why this is so important to us."
"Well then, I don't mean to be rude," Jim said, "But tell me."
Mr. Williams chuckled. "Right to the point, I see. Very well. Here at ChangeCorp., not only do we develop technology, we keep it away from those who would abuse it."
Mr. Williams leaned forward, and then continued.
"However, recently, Mr. Piatzo, apparently working for someone else, managed to break into our headquarters, and steal three things, a device that works with other devices to seek out gender, a device that directly manipulated sizes of people and objects, and a third device."
"What's the third one?" Jim asked.
"I'm afraid, Mr. Ellis," Mr. Williams said, "That the information regarding the fourth technology is classified way beyond your security clearance. In fact, it very well may be one of those things that can destroy you, Mr. Ellis."
"Well then, what would you have me do?" Jim asked.
Mr. Williams leaned back and sighed. "You'll be working with a division of C.C. security agents. It is of extreme importance that you stop Mr. Piatzo or his employer."
"Why is it so important?" Jim asked, afte waiting a moment to process this information.
"Because if our assumptions are correct, then failure will mean the complete alteration of life here on Earth as a whole. Mr. Ellis, you are dismissed."
