"If you're going with her, Jim, then so am I," Sharon said. "I am not having you stolen from me on what was supposed to be our wedding day!"

"All right then," Karen said, spparently deciding that there was no time to argue. "Both of you, this way!" She pointed to the side door by which she had entered. Jim and Sharon followed her, but neither had her speed, and the bodyguards had by now reached the front of the congragation and were close on their heels.

The congregation watched all this in astonishment. At least their presence seemed to be inhibiting the guards from using their firearms.

1. Karen, Jim and Sharon got through the door just ahead of their pursuers. The key was in the lock, and Karen turned it. They were in what by the look of it was the church's office.
2. *As she ran, Karen pulled a strange device from under her cape.
3. The guards overtook Jim and Sharon without taking any notice of them. It seemed that it was only Karen that they were interested in.
4. Something else.
