The flaw in the ChangeCorp plan had been that the publicity for Jim and Sharon's marriage had inevitably not only reached the ears of Karen but also of various other people, some of whom had their own reasons for being interested in Jim.

Amongst those people were the Men in Grey (MiG). It hadn't been too hard for them to arrange for their own man to replace the driver than ChangeCorp had intended to be used.

1. With what they had learned, it wasn't hard for them to intercept Jim and Sharon en route to the ChangeCorp offices.
2. Somehow, Jim and Sharon manage to give them the slip.
3. But before Jim and Sharon can arrange to slip away, Karen manages to escape and turns up at the reception.
4. *Something else.
