There was about five seconds delay between the portal blinking into existence and its stabilising sufficiently for the ChangeCorp men to be able to come through it. Guessing who must be responsible, Henri said: "Down that corridor, the three of you! That's where our other people are. I'll hold them off as long as I can."
He drew a futuristic-looking weapon from a holster at his hip. "Come on!" Karen said, when Jim looked as though he was going to stop and argue. The three of them dashed down the corridor, the half-naked Sharon's large weightless breasts bouncing about impressively.
Since ChangeCorp wanted Jim, Sharon and Karen alive, the half dozen men who emerged from the portal were armed with guns that fired tranquilising darts. Henri managed to shoot two of them before a dart hit him and he slumped unconscious. Not bothering to check whether their colleagues were only injured or were dead, the four men still standing ran down the corridor after Jim, Sharon and Karen.
