Ranma definitely was not happy having to be at the library. Still, the project needed to be done, so he just focused on getting done what needed to be done.
What surprised him is that Akane hadn't been right on his heels the entire time. They did have the same project, after all, and he had figured they'd need to use the same books. As it was, he'd seen her take one book fromt he shelves and begin reading it, but since then, nothing.
With his research finally concluded, he decided he'd best look for her so as to avoid trouble back at the dojo, though he figured just looking for her would cause trouble enough.
He found her right where he'd last seen her, intently reading what seemed to be the same book as before. It took a couple of calls of her name, but he finally got her attention. She looked up fromt he book, clearly startled, though Ranma thought it best not to point that out.
He mentioned he was ready to leave and asked if she'd done her research. With a red-face she said she was "doing really in-depth research" and would take a little longer since her project "was going to be the best fo them all."
Shaking his head he left her to her own devices, relieved to be able to get out of the library. He didn't notice that as soon as he turned away Akane went right back to reading the same book.
Back at the dojo the fathers were astounded he and Akane had not returned together, Nabiki smirked, while Kasumi sighed. Ranma just accepted this as normal an tried to finish his school work in a reasonable time.
As for Akane . . .
