The plane landed at Philadelphia International Airport and Rick quickly got his luggage and found a taxi. He gave the driver Sharon's address and the cab drove off. Sharon lived in a condominium complex not far from BlackCo Headquarters. The city of Springfield was only about 15 miles away and it didn't take too long for him to get there. Along the way he thought about what he would say to her.
He hadn't seen her in years. She had started dating Jim back in college, just before he and Jim had lost contact with each other. Faded out of each other's lives was more like it. Their friendship had come to an end not because of a falling out or anything. Rather, it was because of the usual things - after high school they had gone to different universities, made new friends, picked up new interests. They had simply grown apart.
It was quite a surprise for Rick when he accidentally found out that Sharon was an employee of BlackCo. His discovery had happened only recently and so he never got around to actually calling her and seeing if she was still with Jim. He hoped she was. Rick could still remember how excited Jim was when he started going out with her. Jim would call Rick long distance and talk for hours about the girl.
If they had gone their seperate ways, Rick at least hoped that Sharon still knew how to contact Jim. The video image of Jim storming the BlackCo HQ building was still stuck in Rick's mind. He needed to find out what this was all about and Jim was the key to the truth.
Finally, the cab drove up to the Hillcrest Condominium Community. Grabbing his luggage he walked over to the entry gate and buzzed Sharon's unit.
