Before Ash could turn and run from the room he noticed that the Eva which had once been his mom was stalking in a circle rather than actually trying to pounce on him. At the same time she was glowing with a strange light that reminded him of something he had heard spoken of among other pokewoman trainers...spontaneous evolution!
Mrs Katchum stretched out on the lawn as the brown fur on her tight body was replaced by an aquamarine skin and the ruff around her neck turned into a frill of white fin. Her hair was replaced by a dark blue fin atop her head and similar growths sprouted from her ears as well. A dark blue ridge grew from the nape of her neck and swept down the length of her back and on down the entire length of her tail and legs which now merged into one single limb, a mermaid-like tail ending in a tail-fluke the same colour as her skin.
She quickly crawled over to the garden pond and splashed in without a care in the world as Ash looked on and wondered what the hell to do next.
