Jim smiled down at the clone he had just created, and helped her to her feet. As soon as the Megan duplicate stood up, she looked into Jim's eyes, a glazed and empty look on her face. Behind her, the original Megan was pulling herself up on a workbench, coughing and spluttering on the shit she had on her body. Jim glanced over the clone's shoulder then nodded his head. Instantly, a look of recognition appeared on the double's face, and she turned round to face Megan, silently slipping on one of the original's boots.
Grabbing her counterpart by the shoulders, she dragged her tired body down to the floor again.
"What the...?" Megan couldn't see her attacker, and wouldn't ever see her as the clone proceeded to kick her hard in the face. One boot twisted Megan's head the other way, and the botanist lay still, her neck broken in two. Jim was impressed at this clone's killing instinct. Could this have been picked up off Megan...or the plant itself? Maybe all these clones had a plan embedded inside them from the momemt they were "born"...
to kill their original and replace them in society. After all, nobody would know the difference, they had exactly the same marks as their originals: this clone even had the streaks and tattoos to improve the similarity!
Master watched as drone dragged her counterpart's body towards the furnace, and followed to see the flash and bone turn into ash and cinders. Both stood back and listened to the skin bubble and pop, before they closed the door and left the room.
Jim ordered Megan to get dressed (after all, she was the only one now, so there is no need to refer to her as the Pod Megan), and she did so, silently. Several moments during this process, Megan paused the think about where she had put certain items of clothing, before looking at them.
Ahh. So not even these clones were perfect, but it showed that they wanted to be as near to the original as possible as so not to attract attention, using the original's traits as their own. It also showed they thought about stuff too...interesting.
It was quite dark outside now, and both Megan and Jim walked into the sitting room to find Pod Melissa watching a chat show on TV. On it was Jay Leno, talking to Beyonce Knowles, the former lead singer of Destiny's Child and now a succesful solo artist, and Alyson Hannigan, the cute redhead from American Pie trilogy and Buffy fame. Suddenly a brilliant idea popped into Jim's head...
"What if...?" He was interrupted as he began to share his brilliant plan by rays of light shining through the slats of the window blinds. Jim, Megan and Melissa moved to the window and peered out from behind the blind and saw Sharon's car pulling up into the driveway, and both her, Lisa and the original Melissa getting out of the car!
