Buffy had needed a break. What with coming back from the dead, developing feelings for Spike, and seeing Willow go all veiny-evil-destroy-the-world like over the past year had started to wear her down.
So she'd left a note saying she'd be gone for a few days (not knowing the note would be misplaced for weeks) and hopped on a cross-country flight.
She had randomly decided to visit the North East for a change of pace. All had gone well until she stopped for the night in the small town of Stepford. Right away something struck her as being odd. All the women were better looking than they had any right to be, and all fit into one of two categories.
Some were always smiling and walking around gracefully and deferring to men at every opportunity. Others, equally beautiful, flaunted their bodies, acting as if they were whores or strippers, practically offering themselves to men.
Buffy decided to investigate, fearing some sort of demon attack. Since she was the Slayer, she felt confident enough not to need help. Based on things she overheard, she went first to the mens association.
Sure enough, there was something wrong, but it wasn't a demon. The men of Stepford were brainwashing their women, turning them into submissive sex toys - some as wives, others as mistresses.
Too bad for Buffy, but she was caught by the men of Stepford and put into their brainwashing machine. She was the Slayer and this made her more resistant to their techniques, but in the end she was a woman, and the men of Stepford had a lot of experience in controlling women.
So now Buffy stands at attention in the office of the President of the Mens Association, patiently waiting as he explains about her to the man who she just _knows_ is the most wonderful man alive, the man she will serve and obey and please for the rest of her life.
