Jim thought it might be best to be prepared in this world, and his lack of money might make it difficult to get a weapon from town. " You have some magic weapons?"
" Yes." The old man ruffled through a box he was sitting on. He brought out a few items. One was a yo-yo.
Jim wasn't sure what to say. A yo-yo counted as a weapon? He finally spoke. " A yo-yo?"
" Yes. This is the yo-yo of thwack. It works by swinging it and twirling it around and hitting your opponent in the head. It can also be used to choke them."
The oldman pulled out thick wooden club. " I remember this. The club of smack. Use it like the yo-yo, but don't try to choke anyone with it. I once tried that and got gout for a month."
The last item the oldman took out was a long pointed stick. " This may not be much use, but it's the staff of tickling. Touch any living creature with it, and they will fall to the ground in fits of laughter. There is one disclaimer though. The staff won't work on guys named Josh."
The last item had promise for Jim, but he had been expecting a sword or some other bladed weapon. Begger's couldn't be picky. " I'll take the yo-yo and staff." The oldman handed them to Jim. " Thanks."
" No problem. Have fun rescuing the princess, and try not to die. I hate it when that happens to me," the oldman replied.
" Right.....Well, thanks." Jim was off quickly. That oldman was too weird. Jim wondered what to do now.
