Sharon wasn't sure whether to be flattered or alarmed by Lord Grayson's answer to her question. It was pleasant to be thought intelligent and beautiful, of course, but if he wanted her company did that mean that he intended to keep her here, regardless of her own wishes? His remark that he could not yet allow Annette to leave was rather worrying. Or was she just being paranoid?

Trying to keep any trace of her concern out of her voice, she said: "So where is this place?"
