Later, Sean, Sam, and Joan had driven to the mall to buy clothes for the new k1ds. As they got out of the car and walked down the parking lot to the mall entrance, they ran into Sean's girlfriend, Ashley.
"Hi, Sean," she said, waving so that he couldn't possibly pretend he didn't see her. He really didn't want to have to explain the current situation.
"Oh, hi, Ashley. How are you? We were just going to do some shopping."
"I don't believe we've met," she told Sam and Joan as she reached out to shake their hands. "I'm Ashley."
"These are my, uh, cousins, Sam and Joan," Sean said, making introductions. I've got to look after them while their parents are, um, away."
"Wow, you're looking hot today," Sam told her, almost as if he had forgotten that she wasn't his girlfriend, even though, according to his memories, she was.
"Oh, uh, thanks," she said, finding that to be a comment she would have expected her boyfriend Sean to say, not a complete stranger.
"Yeah, you're looking very fuckable," he added. Sean sighed. What was Sam trying to do? He couldn't possibly think he had a chance with Ashley!
Sean grabbed Sam's arm, telling Ashley, "Just a minute, I've got to talk to him in private." Then, after dragging Sam some small distance away, Sean told Sam in no uncertain terms that Ashley was *Sean's* girlfriend, not Sam's, and that Sam should just shut up and behave himself. Or else he'll be grounded.
Meanwhile, of course, this left Joan and Ashley alone together.
"Have you ever thought about sex with girls?" Joan asked.
Ashley was silent as Sean and Sam returned. Then, Ashley asked Sean, "Do you know what your cousin Joan here just asked me?"
"Was it about sex?" Sam asked, "We're such close relatives, we do everything together. Wink, wink."
Sean sighed. Sam had actually said the words "Wink, wink." How unsubtle could he be?
"Really?" Ashley asked, cocking an eyebrow.
