Jill was used to being called on by Albert Wesker. Lately, he seemed to put her on odd missions, ones that went a little outside her expectations from the position she had within S.T.A.R.S. . Her expertise went toward bombs and machines, yet she found herself getting sent out as an undercover agent more often than not. She could hear Wesker shouting from his office as she got near it. Again, she was used to it. She turned the knob on the door and pushed it open, spotting Wesker sitting at the desk while he yelled at whoever was at the other end of the phonee. This stopped when he saw Jill waiting at the door, dressing in her tactical garb. Her blue beret tipped forward a little, but the rest appeared fully immaculate, the sign of a well-maintained officer.
Wesker composed himself, "Look, I'll call you back. I have something to take care of." As he hung up the phone, Wesker pushed the sunglasses up on the bridge of his nose.
"Have a seat," he offered. Jill stepped into the room and shut the door after her, settling down opposite of Wesker at his desk.
"Jill," he began, "I commend you for your hard work and dedication to the law. Through your efforts working undercover, we've made significantly more progress than we ever hoped to achieve with past agents."
Jill felt a swell of pride in her chest, yet kept a respectful silence as Wesker spoke.
"In fact, you have done such a terrific job during these past few months that I would like to assign you to another undercover mission."
Though she didn't protest outwardly, inwardly, Jill mentally sighed. Part of her was glad to help in any way she could, but she couldn't shake that these missions felt more like grunt work. Regardless, she listened to her mission leader as he revealed her new assignment...
