It seemed strange to him that the boots were there on the other side and had been so helpful. Wasn't everything supposed to curse him in this land? He stepped forward, successfully removing himself from the swamp.
"If that's all this place has to offer, I'll be fine!" he said to himself with a satisfied smirk. Then he took a step forward on dry ground.
Something was different. He couldn't quite put his finger on it; he looked around and things had shifted slightly, he wasn't sure how though. It was almost as if they were a little bit lower.
That was it! The world had shrunk! Or maybe he had grown? He wasn't sure. He took another step forward and remembered that he was still wearing the boots he had put on to protect himself. Now would be a good time to change into the sneakers he was carrying. He sat down and grabbed the boot, then he realized that it had changed. These were not the boots he had put on.
These had heels. And were sexy.
Not that he would have thought they were sexy on him, but rather sexy on a woman! Their sleek black exterior, high heels, and their length reaching just above his knee would have driven him wild had a chick been wearing them.
He yanked them from his feet and stood up.
That was an even bigger shock. He couldn't get off his toes! He tried to walk around, stretching his legs, but it was no use. His ankles were stuck. He has some mobility, but none past standing on his toes. And he was getting tired. He knew he wouldn't get far walking around on his tippy-toes all day.
Jim sighed, seeing how the curse had worked it's magic on him, sat down and pulled the boots back on, swearing to himself that he'd be more careful in the future.
