Ranma knew that the Amazons were kind of screwy in their laws, as what he'd experienced around them had already proven. Just the fact that they insisted on living isolated from all those around them was problematic enough, but that only served to keep their strange customs going. Sure, he wasn't one to judge anyone else's way of living, but they had a habit of doing things that he didn't quite understand.
Then again, that might have come from the fact that he was being directed affected by their laws and traditions. He hadn't exactly expected that to happen when he'd followed his father into that mountain range, but ever since he had, it had led him into things going this way. No matter how hard he tried, it didn't seem like he could change a whole society, and so he was kind of stuck in trying figure out what exactly he was going to be able to do with what it meant to him.
