As the shard looked around for potential targets, it soon found one. A young girl, fleeing through the streets away from a large panda. It was kind of attention grabbing, quite honestly. The girl seemed like the perfect host, due to her incredible beauty, grace, skill, agility and inner fire.
The girl - Ranma, it seems - shuddered as the shard struck but didn't notice due to being distracted by other things such as... oh, that wasn't quite what the shard had been expecting. This may complicate matters greatly... or perhaps, instead, make them all that more interesting.
If the shard was truly to use this boy-turned-girl as a host, then it seemed that it did not have to begin by making her attracted to girls. That part of the checklist was already dealt with. So, what should it do next? Perhaps make a few alterations to her physical form, give her special abilities? Yes, that seemed appropriate somehow. Of course, it would take some time to make such changes, and it wouldn't exactly be helped by the way that she would keep on becoming a boy again whenever the curse was triggered... but it would manage eventually.
The shard was able to make its first major change-
