She didn't always wait outside his house like this, but it wasn't entirely unknown to happen. The two of them were next door neighbours, after all. Generally speaking, she'd not been doing it so much. Today, on the other hand... She had to speak to him before class begun. Toshiko wasn't entirely sure what she intended to say, but she did know that they had to talk and that was good enough for her. The idiot was running late again, which was also not particularly unusual.
What was unusual was that there were two girls waiting outside his house this particular morning. Toshiko studied the girl, standing there with a grim determined expression. Was this truly the same girl as yesterday? The same one that had challenged Shino to a game, with herself on the line? There was a sort of confidence in her eyes that was missing before, even when she had been so sure she would win.
"Excuse me. Tomoko, wasn't it?"
Tomoko turned to look at Toshiko, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Is something the matter, Toshiko?"
Too polite. Too nice. Didn't even seem forced. Didn't seem angry or scared, or...Much of anything. Abnormally normal. A thought seemed to take Tomoko for a moment. She looked around as though checking for anyone else being around, and once she was convinced there was not she removed her glasses for a fraction of a second, blushed, looked away and returned them to where they were. The weird thing about that was, for that briefest second Toshiko had felt the slightest twinge of curiousity. But at least there was something here that was a bit familiar. Embarassment. That was something Toshiko could fully understand.
"So, what exactly did he have you do yesterday?"
"Probably not what you're thinking," Tomoko mumbled. "Ah, sorry! What I mean is, He just showed me around, had me help him tidy his room and then I helped him with his homework. He was the perfect gentleman!"
Sure. The perfect gentleman. And Toshiko had a bridge to sell you on a pyramid plan if you bought that one. And what was with that slight smirk playing at her lips? What was up with her today? What had really happened yesterday, to make her behave so... differently?
Before she could ask, the front door opened and closed, prompting them both to snap their attention towards the building.
"Oh, wow. Big bro's luckier with the ladies than I thought!" Shina gasped, her voice dripping with that usual playful sarcasm. "Then again, that doesn't say much. How did that loser get the attention of two gorgeous girls like you?"
"Simple. He lives next door to me, and won her in a bet!"
"That's right, that's right! He won Tomoko in a bet! Now she has to be his maid. You should have seen the cute little maid outfit she was wearing! Ooh la la, and all that! See you later!"
Shina skipped off, leaving the two girls silently staring at the house and most definitely not at each other.
"The perfect gentleman, huh?" Tomoko said.
"Shina made the outfit! Shino didn't have anything to do with it!"
"That makes sense. You ever hear of the Cosplay Queen? That's Shina."
"No! Really? The legendary girl that can make literally any outfit you show her? But she's way too young!"
"Used to be their mom. She passed the mantle down. At least that's the way Shino tells it. Keep it quiet now, it's a family secret. She probably had your measurements at a glance..."
But before Toshiko could elaborate any further, their wait finally ended. At long, long last! There he was, Shino the perverted idiot that had kept them both waiting. Look at him, standing there yawning, stretching, waving politely at them. No doubt he'd spent the entire night honing some dream invading superpower so that he could sneak right on into her thoughts last night and force her to dress up like a maid and do such dirty, filthy perverted nasty things for him that she would never ever do for anyone and especially not a jerk like him.
"Good morning Shino," Tomoko slighlty bowed her head. "May I carry your bags for you?"
"Hmph! Keeping us waiting like that!" Toshiko turned her nose up at him. "How rude of you!"
"Morning Tomoko, Toshiko. Ah, not really necessary, Tomoko, thank you. And I suppose you could call this payback for that one summer you took me clothes shopping, Toshiko. Remember how long it took you to pick out a bikini?"
She remembered. And she picked up on the implicit implication that he wanted her to take him out on another such spree. She could see it easily. Coyly pulling him into the dressing room area, where there's nobody around but them. She asks him to pick one out, and he chooses the string one. She protests, he insists. "You lost the bet," he'd say. And to that she could but meekly acquisce. Walk into the changing room with the ill fitting swimwear. She would look at it with disgust, only to realise too late that she was followed in. Only realising when he was pinning her to the wall, stealing her lips with his own. "What are you doing?" she'd angrily hiss at him, and his only reply would be "You lost the bet." It would be enough to make her go limp in his arms, to let him do as he willed. He would help her remove her clothes, help her put on that far too revealing outfit, and then -
"Earth to Toshiko!" Shino said, rapping his hand lightly on her forehead. "Come on, we gotta get to school!"
"Hands off, pervert!"
Ooh, she hadn't meant to push him quite that hard. Luckily, it seemed as though Tomoko had been prepared for the eventuality of Shino falling into a rosebush, and had plenty of antiseptic. The kind that stung, unfortunately.
