It speaks to the level of boredom Ami was suffering through, that she thought this a good trial wish at any level. As smart as she was, she ought to have known better. For all Ami knew, if the rock truly did grant a wish it would be just the one. No more than that. Thus, in this hypothetical situation it could not be used to remove such a villain if one were to appear.
Of course, the rock had no such limits on the number of wishes it could grant. But Ami did not know that. She could not possibly have known that. Even so, she held the rock in front of her face between forefinger and thumb as the words "I wish the next villain would appear already" carelessly tumbled out of her mouth.
When the rock began to glow, Ami was briefly concerned. Just briefly. A rather fascinating trick of the light, no doubt caused by being held at just the right angle under just the right intensity of light. Or maybe it really was magic. Not enough information to form a reliable hypothesis. Maybe a new villain would appear shortly, ready to drag her out of this boredom? The thought made her chuckle, which turned into a guffaw, which in turn became a full on maniacal laugh that prompted her to fall back onto her bed, clutching her sides as she laughed and laughed and laughed at absolutely nothing at all.
"I feel fantastic!" she said as the laughter died down. "No, it's more than that. I feel different. I feel... Evil. Yes, that's right. I feel evil. Wow, that's... That's quite weird. Goody two shoes to outright malevolance in about five minutes."
The new Ami rose slowly to her feet, uncurling a fist and letting the rock rest on her upturned palm. "And I owe it to you, apparently. That could not possibly have been a coincidence, now could it? Why don't we test that theory. I wish to know the limitations of the wishes this rock can grant."
To the outside observer, Ami's body froze in place for just a fraction of a second. From her perspective things were a little bit different. After all, the limits of the rock's abilities were a difficult factor to trace. It could rewrite reality or merely aspects of it with ease. Thus, what Ami had asked it to tell her was a list of all that existed that was more powerful than itself... Or at least, what it was aware of that fit that category.
Though Ami did learn one other aspect from this information. The rock had a tendency to grant wishes in the most perverted manner possible. Wish for wealth, and it would land you a supermodel. Wish for a car, and anyone that rode in the passenger's seat would be desperate for sex by the time they reached their destination. "That explains a few things," Ami mused. "This new personality I'm - what would be the right word? Using? Expressing? Revelling in? - is derived from the darker impulses of 'Ami Mizuno', in particular her rather repressed lust. So! If I am to be a new villain, what shall my motivation be? What shall I use this rock to make happen? Shall I rule the world?"
The rock rolled back and forth in Ami's hands as she tilted and dipped it, toying with the rock as the fate of the world lay in her musings. A single wish. A sentence. The world would be hers. Just like that, and nobody could stop her.
"Except that would be far too easy! Far too simple. Then I'd be in the state I was when I made that wish. Bored out of my rather brilliant mind, with no challenges to pit myself against. I need a challenge! What's the point in being so smart if it can't be applied? Besides which, ruling the world is sort of cliche. This evil genius just wants to have a little fun. Getting what you want without working for it is no fun at all!"
A plan was forming in Ami's freshly darkened imagination. The rock would give her anything she wished for, and what she wanted was a challenge. Of course if she worded it incorrectly, the challenge would wind up biting her in the ass. No, the smarter thing to do was to set up a challenge with a few more carefully selected wishes, and then use the results to set up what she had in mind.
Ami strolled over to a chess set kept on a table in the corner of the room, and picked up the black queen. It would be a game, of sorts. Darkness vs light. The side of Ami that was a goodie goodie versus the unrestrained part of her. She had become this way to satisfy the wish for a new villain for the Senshi to fight. Then that was what she would become! She would be Jekyll and Hyde. Her genius mind would assist the Senshi as it simultaneously strategised against them! The grandest game of all; To challenge oneself! A simple wish would sort this out, though the wording... the wording was the key to this. Would they switch control between dawn and dusk? Would she allow herself to seize control at any given moment she chose? Or perhaps a specific event or word caused the change over... There were many ways to accomplishing this task, best to come back to it later on.
To begin with were other issues. She needed minions. She required a new costume to hide her identity, should she ever confront the heroes when Sailor Mercury was "indisposed". It would also hide her identity from her minions, in case they noticed that one of their adversaries was the same one as the person ordering them around. Couldn't let that happen! And then she'd need an evil base that was only accessible by herself and her minions...
These things, and a few other details could be set in place with such simplicity by the rock in her hand. That was all she'd use it for, all she'd need it for... Although keeping it out of her goodie goodie self's hands without her being aware was another problem to overcome. So much planning to do, so many angles to look at! Whatever else she could say, Ami Mizuno was no longer bored by any stretch of the imagination!
